TC2 will not require a more advanced graphics card than TC1. It might need just a slightly better bandwidth since there are more pictures, but these pictures are placed on a distributed network so players will probably not notice a difference.

TC2 will be a browser based 2D game with more pictures go give you a sense of actually being in a city. A 3D game where you can move around with a character requires that a player's computer does a lot of work. We Believe in making lightweight games that can be accessed from anywhere without the need of pre-installed special software, all you will need is a web browser, just like with TC1.
The game will mostly be played by mouse clicks, but the user interface hasn't been finilized yet so things might still change a bit.
Prison will not be exactly the same as prison is today, we have several variables we can change here to make the game feel better.
Prizes haven't been decided on yet, we need to get a beta running and see that everything runs smoothly before making any such decisions.
TC2 goes to be like RuneScape game? we have to control a personage in a city?

Dont you think it would be cool , if the tc2 got some activities available inside the prison ( like fighting with no weapon for respect or building up strenght etc.)

It's not importaint about rooles, all players are responsible for their accounts, and if someone give password to another player it's his fault, and he can be abused by other player. I really want to play old tc game, which have good tactic, and it was fun, no like now it is. And if you change game back a few rounds i get bet that more players will play old one, and more credit's will be sold. So please Ebi i am begging you, let players this time, to decide what gameplay would they like to play, please let me happy, and some other players.
Can we count on you, for reverse a game when tc2 will be out, it doesn't care about rooles, let players play that old tc in wild west rooles on alcapone on head :P

Reading through the posts and the one about the mouse clicking and the different streets it brings me to the question of Will each or most buildings on each street be unique? Will they all serve a purpose? For me, that'd be a step in the right direction. I assume most of you will have played GTA 4. The City was great, but there wasen't anything to do in it to keep you interested, any variety to keep you coming back for more. I'm guessing the Burger Bar from the first screen will serve as a place to restore your energy or whatever its going to be in TC2, and the car park will maybe serve as a place to nick a motor.
Which also brings me to ask, will there be new robberies such as Illegal Street Racing(against other players, not the CPU, that would make it a lot more interesting) and other things?
How is fighting going to be implemented into TC2? Is there going to be a place in the city(I.E An Alley) where everyone can challenge the other people in that alley to a fight? Or will we be able to offer anyone out that we meet?
As I said in a previous post, we won't transfer the current crew directly to TC2, it wouldn't be fair to expect them to do double work and also learn the ins and outs of a new game.
We will try to optimize performance as the game gets underway, but it's impossible to predict all the bottlenecks beforehand since it impossible to predict player behaviour 100%. But we have build on a model we believe to be easy scalable and we have taken extra care to build a solid platform were we predict performance will be extra critical.
As an initial setup, street will contain specific spots were players may build their buildings, such as night clubs for instance, but the rest of the buildings on the street will be a part of the background picture. This is a performance decision as well as a design decision, but since this is only what is being displayed to the player, it's something we can change for later. The underlaying system makes it possible to create and display a street were every building is directly accessable by a mouse click.
Car racing have been purposed. I don't think the initial version that is put up on beta will have it, but it's our intention to implement it later on.
Fighting other players 1vs1 can be done when the two is in the same location. This system is something that has to be tried out and balanced and we will need a lot of player feedback in this area when the beta comes up. But I can tell you this, it will be quite different from what it is today, which is a very straight and completely predictable formula. Fights in TC2 will be a little more uncertain, and hopefully much more interesting.

We can't set a specific time yet. We're working as fast as we can, but TC1 also takes time so unfortunately we can't work 8 hours a day on TC2.

Our hopes were to start a beta at the end of November, but that will be a hard goal to reach with the current pace of development. Some changes at work has left the other two developers unable to spend as much time on this project as we would like to and with only one developer left, the programming isn't proceeding as fast as we had hoped for. My time also have to be divided into stuff to do for TC1 and TC2. I am unable at this time to give a new estimate for a beta, but we hope to get one up as soon as possible.

i have question about protecting tc2 against bots and scripts. what kind of protection do you mind to implend into game?? i hope that there wouldn't be implended also this stupid random questions, coz it totaly sux. tc1 = hunting system broken, i lost 5k stats only because of this random events!
The whole system will be different in TC2, so hopefully image captchas and random events won't be needed. We might however implement, at a later stage, mini games needed to perform certain tasks. These games will hopfully enrich the gaming experience and at the same time be an extra difficulty for bots.

For now what can be said is that for everysingle system, there are hundred ways to break it and numbers are not on developers' side, as it is more than 20 programmers in thecrims with their attention focused in bottering against 3 devs with their attentions divided between hundred tasks.
So don't take so hard on them for not implementing some 100% anti-failure system.
So, instead of focusing their attention on anti-bot systems i would really like to see the game-play well implemented.
Bots are not so necessary if the game is in a long-play-time, good.
You will play because you like it.
Despite of course of some who spend their time on the vanity objective of conquering some worthful title... but they are minority and can be dealt down.
If the top is full of cheaters, who cares?
I play single player games just for fun as everybody does.
And i would like to play a so full of options and diferent actions web game just for fun as well.
So that's my humble request.
Try to focus on game play, allowing a very rich set of actions and well thought strategies.
Let bots for the abuse.. just give them a little more power on the meaning of allowing them to make smart querries for searchs.
But this can be done later.
And between, with rabbits forbidden, bots are not going to make such a diference as they do in thecrims.
So, focusing on the gameplay seems to me to be a reasonable choice.

A single thing i don't understand: Why do you waste so much time creating it as long as you don't show us any progress, any new features, new ideas and so on.
You will finish the game soon and you will see how many people will come and say it's a bullshit, it's a waste of time, cause you can't satisfy every group of players.
You want this developer? Enjoy it man!
give us access to some beta version to make some tests ;)
