    Default TheCrims Begginers Guide

    Intro:
    Welcome to parris's FAQ for The Crims online game. There are a few URL's as you probably already know www.thecrims.com, www2.thecrims.com and www3.thecrims.com are all links that work and that I've tried. I've decided to make this FAQ because there isn't really very much info provided by the makers of the game and I'll be adding things as I learn them. The Crims is a multi-country online crime simulator.
    The people who play are from all over the Earth, and you'll often notice that things appear to be written in jibberish, but it's probably just a different language. If you haven't started playing the game yet you might think "great another lame dopewars game." Well, the drugs actually don't play as big of a role as you'd think. Because of the way the game is set up, it is kind of difficult to play for more than 20 minutes at a time without waiting an hour to gain the "stanima" to continue on playing, for this reason it's the perfect game if you're an addictive gamer, but with a limited amount of time to game.

    (1.0) Stamina:
    Pretty much every time you do something you loose stanima, commiting a robber takes a know amount of stanama, the game tells you before you perform the robbery. Other things cause you to lose stanima also, collecting hooker money, assultying somebody and sabotaging somebody. You start with 100 stanama, and loose it really rapidly. This is why the game can be really addicting, but not super time consuming. The only ways to regain stanima is to wait (real time) or goto a rave or night club and buy drugs.For a robbery, I've noticed that you need about 5 points greater than you lowest stat to perform a robbery. i.e. robbing 7-eleven takes about 100 intellegence, dont bother robbing it until your worst stat is at least 105. I spend a real-life game about not able to lay since I was stuck in jail.
    (Hint, to get the cheapest drugs, buy a night club and visit it to pay yourself for the drugs you purchased.)

    (1.1) Stats:
    Stats are very important, even thought this is a linked based game, that at first glance seems like a glorified dope wars, it isnt, it's more of a real-time online RPG. Stats come in hand while performing robberys, sabotages and assaults. Stats like intellegence also increase the number of hookers and buildings you can handle.

    (1.2) Respect:
    Respect is supposed to be the deciding factor on how assaults, robberys, and sabotages is handeled. Even though I believe you other stats are really important, the website claims that respect is the biggest factor.

    (2.0) Assault:
    Assault takes a lot of stanama (55%) and doesnt get you huge stat points. In fact, unless you're a really high player, it's almost a bad idea, unless you've just bought a sweet gun and joined a cool gang. I've made a couple assaults and have gained about 2.0 stats on each attribute for it. I could have robbed at least 3 7-11's for that stanama cost, made money and gained the same amount of stats (actually, more so). You win the fight if your strength is higher than your victems tolerance, you kill them if it's double.

    (2.1.0) Robbery:
    Robbery is pretty self explainatory. You pick your target from the drop down list and attempt to rob it. I've found the randomness of robbery is pretty nil. Wait until you have 5+ of your lowest stat higer than what the robbery difficulty is and you'll get a success. I've tried 2+ on my lowest stat and went to jail once for 24 hours. Robbery is the best way for a beginner to get respect, stats, and cash. Just work your way up, like any RPG. The algorithm for whether or not you'll succeed a robbery is public knowledge from The Crims. Goto http://support.thecrims.com/index.ph...ewarticle&id=5 for the algorithm or goto http://calc.tk/ for a calculator.

    (2.1.1) Gang Robbery:
    Gang Robbery is the same as regular robber only you need to be in a gang, more than one person has to participate, and EVERYBODY needs their stats high enough to pull off the heist. If a gang robbery has 200 difficulty, requires 2 people, and on person has 25,000 on every stat and the other person has 100 on every stat, the robbery will fail.
    VT robbery costs 30% stanima

    (2.2) Sabotage:
    To be explained.

    (2.3) Hookers:
    I have never purchased a hooker, the way I usually aquire them is from going to $0-$10 raves looking for cheap drugs to increas my stamina. They'll eventually just appear. You can only have a certain amount according to your intellegence (?) stat, and get extra buy purchasing a whore house. To collect your daily earnings from them, click on the hookers box, scroll to the bottom and collect the money you're hookers have made. Note: this uses stanima. Hookers seem to pay out at around 02:00 and take 3% stanima to collect from. It's actually good practice to not collect money from your hookers at every chance you get. The more often you collect from them, the greater chance they'll leave you or die.

    (2.4) Arms Dealer:
    You can not be attacked unless your respect is over 100, I recommend joining a big n00b gang and getting some weapons before you hit the 100 respect level. There are tons of people on the game that scout out people with low but attackable respect, and a gun + body armor + security can really help you win those battles. Make sur to activate the weapon you buy.

    (2.5) Drug Dealer:
    The drug dealer isn't a usefull page until you own a night club or rave. Those two places are the only places you can buy drugs, which in turn increase your stanima. As the game goes on, the drugs increas your stanima by less and less, you can visit the Hospital to "detox," which means you're tolerance to any particular drugs goes back to 0. I'd perfer saving you're hard earned cash and buying a building like a brewery to replenish your drugs with out buying them. The other trouble with the Drug Dealer page is that you are about 1 in 10,000 watching the page, so even if somebody says they're selling 100 of a certain drug, by the time you click on it they've sold out.

    (2.6) Buildings:
    Buildings are like drug dealers, only you pay huge up front and all of the drugs produced goto you, and you only. If you've got a nightclub or rave, that is where you sell them. BONUS, you can goto your own rave/nightclub and purchase your own drugs to regain stanima, so the drugs you buy are at whatever you charge, which you'll be paying youself. Buildings seem to produce their units/day at the beginning of each game day (0:00). Keep in mind that if you can't pay your rent, your buildings won't produce anything.

    (2.7) Establish a Solid Connection:
    At first you'd think that a game involving organized crime would imply that you need to make solid connections with everybody. This, on the other hand is a bad idea. Establishing a solid connection with somebody is more like asking them to attack/kill you. I've learned the hard way that you should only try to establish a solid connection with another player if you know them or (for whatever reason) trust them. The whole point of establishing a solid connection is so that you can invite them to join your gang, or vice versa. Also, I think there is a bug in the game where somebody can cheat kill you if you try to establish a solid connection with them.

    (3.0) Rave Party:
    Visiting a rave party essentially has 3 purposes. First, if you're low on stanima, you can goto a rave and hope that they're selling drugs. The more drugs you buy from a rave the higher your stanima increases. You can overdose, landing you in the hospital and barring you from playing for about 3 game days (18 hours). I usually take no more than 20 units of any particular drug and never overdose. Another reason for visiting a rave is to meet hookers, it's rare, but occasionally when you visit a rave you'll aquire a hooker for free. Hookers give you money each game day and their only downside is you can't have an infinite amount of them. Lastly, you can goto a rave to meet other players. If you're in the mood to assault, sabotage, establish a solid connection, or recruit somebody into your gang, you have to meet people, raves are a good place to do that. If at the bottom it shows that you aren't the only person there, the other people that you've "raved with" will be added to the list of people you can perform the previousally stated actions on. To enter a rave you need tickets, you get a limited amount of tickets each day, but you get so many that it's tough to run out.

    (3.1) Night Club:
    As far as I can tell, night clubs are the same as raves, they're useful because if you're already at a rave you can't click the "Rave Party" button to goto a different rave (the rave you're at will just be refreshed), but you can click on night club and goto a club.

    (3.2) Businesses:
    The two businesses you can run are Rave Parties and Night Clubs, Rave Parties cost a lot more, but you can fit 100 people a day, nightclubs fit only 25 people a day. Nightclubs also limit the amount of different drugs you can sell to 3. These businesses are where you can sell any of the drugs you've purchased from a dealer or produced from a building. After buying a business you can set the entrance fee and set the price you want to sell your drugs for (always -/+ %50 of purchase price). I like to sell my drugs for the max price, and it seems like everybody else does too, so when setting the price just type in $500 and it will sell your drug for the max price (since heroin is the most expensive an its max cost is $333). You don't have to collect money you've earned from your businesses, it automatically goes into your pocket.

    (3.3) The Docks:
    There never seems to be a boat at the docks and I dont really know what you'd do if there was actually one there. I'm pretty sure this is just a "Please buy credits" page.

    (3.4) The Square:
    The square is where you can talk to people, you can also click on their name and establish a solid connection with them. I usually don't visit the square because the conversation usually looks something like this:

    [28 15:12] wot!!!???

    [28 15:13] I need a gang.

    [28 15:14] u wanna join maz?

    [28 15:14] nounyy enty henaa

    [28 15:14] nounyy enty henaa??

    [28 15:15] I need to join a gang.

    [28 15:18] Can I join someone's gang?

    (3.5) Casino:
    Here you can gamble via lottery for credits (see intro, I'm not going to bother with them), or play blackjack. However, I feel like the blackjack game is rigged in the games favor, I only usually win about 1/12 hands. Just avoid it, really.

    (3.7) Hospital:
    The hospital has a few uses, one of them being detoxing. When you use drugs at nightclubs or raves to regain stanima you begin to gain tolerance, meaning the stanima you gain decreases the more you use drugs. Detoxing resets your stanima gain to these stats per unit:

    Painkillers = 1%

    Booze = 2%

    Weed = 1%

    Shooms = 2%

    LSD = 3%

    Ecstasy = 4%

    Amphetamine = 5%

    Opium = 6%

    Cocaine = 7%

    Heroin = 8%

    NOTE: When you buy strength, it takes away from your intellegence, 2 strength loses 1 intellegence.

    (3. The Bank:
    I usually deposit most of my money into the bank when I'm finished playing. It pays 2% interest and even though it takes 3% stanima to deposit money, it doesn't take any stanima to withdraw, so you won't be wasting stanima starting a new game session and getting your money.
    Make sure you leave enough money out of your account to pay your daily fee's for your buildings and businesses though.

    (3.9) Prison:
    Prison is where you go if you get caught performing a robbery. You usually go for 4 game days (1 real day) and you can do limited things while in prison.
    It's about 500 * respect to bribe your way out of jail... round up.

    (4.0) Robbery Stats:
    (4.0.1) 7-11: Money collected: somewhere in the area of 500-1500, I'm pretty sure I've seen higher and lower.

    (4.1) Spirit:
    Spirit represents how fast your stanima increases while remaining idle. Taking drugs and pulling off successful endevors keeps your spirit very high.

    (5.0) Where to Go for More Info
    In one of the panels on the right hand side of the window there is a list of links in a box titled "System." The support link is actually a link to a message board that is divided up into different languages. It's fun to browse when you're waiting for stanima to rebuild.

    I see you done alot of work, but i would like to correct a number of things...

    Obv these crew above havent read it through properly.. or just dont understand how to play, i guess its bit of both

    The only ways to regain stanima is to wait (real time) or goto a rave or night club and buy drugs.
    You can also go to hookers which can be found on the "nightlife" page to re-stam.

    Respect is supposed to be the deciding factor on how assaults, robberys, and sabotages is handeled. Even though I believe you other stats are really important, the website claims that respect is the biggest factor.
    Respect doesnt mean a thing about what rob you can do.... Its all about your stats and weapons

    Also, I think there is a bug in the game where somebody can cheat kill you if you try to establish a solid connection with them.
    Its no bug, its a very good feature of the game!

    You can overdose, landing you in the hospital and barring you from playing for about 3 game days (18 hours).
    No.. Overdose puts you in hospital only 2 game hours (30mins).

    To enter a rave you need tickets, you get a limited amount of tickets each day, but you get so many that it's tough to run out.
    You get 8 tickets each TC day, and 100 at the veryy start of round.

    The two businesses you can run are Rave Parties and Night Clubs, Rave Parties cost a lot more, but you can fit 100 people a day, nightclubs fit only 25 people a day
    No no.. Rave can fit 100 at ANY 1 time, and nightclub can fit 25 at any 1 time.

    (3.3) The Docks:
    There never seems to be a boat at the docks and I dont really know what you'd do if there was actually one there. I'm pretty sure this is just a "Please buy credits" page.
    There is docks every few real days, of course this is random, but on average i would say between 12-20 per round..

    (4.0) Robbery Stats:
    (4.0.1) 7-11: Money collected: somewhere in the area of 500-1500, I'm pretty sure I've seen higher and lower.
    Depends entirely which robbery you are doing. AC pays above $1kk.

    Thanks!
